It's GAPRIL! Your Hole Has Goals

It's GAPRIL! Your Hole Has Goals - UberKinky

April is here, and with it comes the unofficial kink calendar's most stretched-out celebration: GAPRIL

One month dedicated to the pursuit of the open, the wide, and the wonderfully wrecked. Whether you're just curious about what all the fuss is about, working your way up the sizes, or already deep in your gape era - welcome.

You're in the right place.

What Is Gapril?!

Gapril was pioneered by Topped Toys - the Vancouver-based brand that has arguably changed the game for the anal stretching community and is widely celebrated within online communities like Reddit.

What started as an April plug challenge built around daily check-ins and #HoleGoals has grown into a wider community moment, with its own Reddit presence, its own hashtag culture, and a genuinely enthusiastic following across the kink world every April.

There is no pressure or leaderboard - its more of a strong community vibe. But, obviously, can also be celebrated privately and discreetly. It's up to you. At Uberkinky, we just want YOU to open up and enjoy it.

What is Anal Gaping, anyway?

Gaping is when the anus remains visibly open after a toy, fist, or partner has been removed.

It's a temporary effect of sustained stretching, and for a lot of people, working towards it is as much about the process as the result. The stretch, the fullness, the slow and deliberate progression - that's the good stuff. It requires patience, good toys, and plenty of lube. Always plenty of lube.

Where do you start with Anal Gaping for Gapril?

The brands leading the gape-focused toy market have done a lot of the hard work for you - sizing systems, gradual progressions, shapes designed specifically for how your body opens up. Here's who's worth knowing about.

Do I need to be experienced?

Not even slightly. Gapril is for anyone curious about anal stretching, whatever their starting point.

The whole premise is progression - you work with what your body can do right now and build from there.

A small Titus plug or an entry-level Squarepeg egg is as valid a Gapril toy as anything in the Topped Toys range. The community celebrates the journey, not the destination.

Which Toys & Brands Should I Use?

Topped Toys

Topped Toys has built an entire philosophy around the gape. Their Gape Keeper series runs across a wide size range, with a wide body and a gently tapered neck, holding you open without constant effort.

Their Grip series is engineered specifically to keep you stretched during wear.

Both lines are built for progression, so you can work up the range over time and actually feel the difference.

SquarePegToys®

SquarePegToys® are a community favourite for good reason.

Their egg-shaped plugs are designed with stretching in mind from the ground up - wide enough to open you up properly, shaped to sit comfortably once in, and available across multiple sizes so you can work your way up steadily.

If you're new to intentional stretching and want something that rewards patience, Squarepeg is an excellent starting point.

Titus Ribbed Plugs

The Titus Ribbed Plugs come as a three-plug training kit - small, medium, and large - making them one of the most straightforward progression tools in the Gapril arsenal.

Each plug is made from 100% medical-grade silicone and features three ribs at the neck, right at the entrance to the anus, which work the nerve endings as you squeeze and release.

It's not just about size here - it's about sensation layered into the stretch. The flared base adds pressure to the perineum during wear, and the graduated sizing means you can move through the kit at your own pace, using each plug to prepare your body for the next.

If you want a set that takes you from beginner to meaningfully stretched without having to piece together a progression yourself, the Titus kit does the thinking for you.

Something a little different: the Mr S 'WMCBP'

Not every Gapril toy is about chasing the biggest stretch. The "WORLDS MOST COMFORTALE BUTT PLUG" from Mr S Leather deserves its own mention because it works differently.

That super slim stem is the whole point - your body actually closes around it during wear, making it genuinely comfortable for hours at a stretch. It's not a gaping plug or a stretching plug in the traditional sense, but as a long-term wear companion during your Gapril practice - the plug you reach for when you're done training for the day and just want to stay full - it's hard to beat.

The WMCBP is available from Uberkinky in Small, Medium, Large, XL, and XXL, so there's a size for wherever you are in your journey.

The Golden Rules of Gape for Gapril

  • Don't rush. Stretching is cumulative and the best results come from regular, relaxed sessions rather than pushing too hard too fast.
  • Warm up properly. Work through sizes rather than jumping straight to your target.
  • Lube is non-negotiable. Use plenty of toy-suitable lube from Uberkinky and reapply lube generously and regularly. Click here to explore our lube selections.
  • Listen to your body. Discomfort is fine. Pain is a stop sign. Don't force it. Take it slow. It should be sensational and not stressful.

After the stretch: aftercare matters

Gaping play asks a lot of your body, and what you do afterwards is just as important as the session itself.

Give your body time to rest between stretching sessions - your sphincter muscles need recovery time to remain healthy and resilient for the long term.

Clean your toys thoroughly after every use with warm water and a body-safe toy cleaner, and store them separately to avoid silicone-on-silicone contact.

Hydration helps, a warm bath soothes, and if you experience any soreness beyond mild muscle fatigue, rest up and give yourself more time before your next session.

A sustainable Gapril practice is one you can still be doing in May.

Happy Gapril. May your #HoleGoals be ambitious and your lube supply plentiful.
